Biography of Josine Dupont

Josine Dupont was born in Milan from a family of Belgian origin.
She studied for four years at the Brera School of the Archaeologists with the portraitist Luca Vernizzi, and graduated in painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Genoa with a thesis on Archipenko's metaphysics. For some years she taught painting at the Uni-Te in Genoa.
In the course of her production she moved from a first period, figurative, in which she described the Ligurian landscape and executed portraits and drawings, to a phase in which she studied the human figure dissolved in color, with a research on the ancient composition in monochrome in relation to the informal, to then arrive at the informal gestural.
