Matteucci Lionello

Biography of Lionello Matteucci "Lioma"

Born in 1950, I live and work in Verona, beautiful city of Italy.
I made my first artwork with recycled materials in 1965,  for a school art competition.
I am an admirer of Pop Art, and of Enrico Baj, and of the Futurism.
The attendance of some artists has enriched my knowledge in art; I want to remind Carlo Sessa that teach me the rudiments of wooden sculpture and also my friend Claudio Ciancia, in his atelier in Milan we talked about radon and fractals, together a glass of wine, and bread with salami.
I always created, in the short time available, artworks using waste materials; artworks that I have always given to friends. I liked to revive old useless objects creating decorative artworks.
Now I have more time to create artwork.  I usually use in my aryworks : sands, resins, and various types of dust, metal filings, sometimes mixed with each other and fixed with adhesives and gels.
Other materials that use to produce my artworks : appliances, hi-fi equipment, waste blacksmith, carpenter, mechanic, picked or dug in Murano glass, clocks, old radios, mirrors, pieces of furniture, keys, cutlery, boxes, caps of various origins, hardware and stones.
Hardware and electrical components, are always new, to prevent rust, and security issues. All electrical circuits are provided with earthing.
Where possible the colors are water based and ecological, mostly scraps or redundancies of a paint man.
All artworks are unique, signed and delivered with a certificate of origin.
