Sandro Baldoni’s painting is certainly characteristic of a metaphysical realism which has nothing to do with the simple figurative narration.
The subtle dialectic impregnating his paintings is reinforced by the clever luministic and chromatic use of colours, and originates paintings like “Tree wind sea”: in this one is strong Magritte’s echo or like “Self-portrait”, out of which a personal chromatic complementary contrast comes, made more interesting by a certain psychological investigator characterization that joins in a careful pictorial personalization worthy of Modigliani’s portraits.

Melancholic gentleness, unexpected emotions, trembling life shivers, yearning for the infinity are the feelings frequently emanated from his paintings, either those paintings with a figurative subject or those ones without any icons or of abstract trend. Anyway, his paintings are pervaded by a subtly inquiring light and veiled by a metaphysical timelessness so that they express his inner world richness and complexity.

A real world impregnated with a metaphysical light that sometimes strokes you and sometimes gives you the shivers: fear, kindness, touch, distance. There is no physical time in Baldoni’s paintings: understanding an instant with any length of time expresses his inner world image in a pictorial one.
His drawings quickly fix pictures he often works out again in his memory and he changes.
